Todd Hewlin is
the managing partner at TCG Advisors. His background as a McKinsey
partner and senior tech executive enables him to help clients with
both strategy and execution.
Focus
of Advisory Activities
Todd advises leading tech and tech-enabled companies on their strategic growth, transformation, and organizational issues. Much of his work has focused on helping management teams prioritize market opportunities, align product/sales/marketing execution, and organize for breakout growth. He also advises boards, management, and financial sponsors on the execution of carve-outs, roll-ups, acquisitions, and divestitures that support their business strategies.

Base
Todd has worked with leading organizations across hardware, software,
wireless, and financial services. Past clients include Cisco, Microsoft,
PeopleSoft, BEA, and Morgan Stanley. Todd currently serves on the
Boards of Directors of RCD and Point B.
Before
TCG Advisors
Prior to TCG Advisors, Todd was responsible for Symbol Technologies’
$1.5 billion in product businesses, including mobile computing,
wireless networking, RFID, data capture, and mobility software.
During his tenure, Symbol increased product revenues by 34 percent,
product gross margin by 1200 basis points, and operating cash flow
by $550 million. His final role at Symbol was to partner with the
Chairman to negotiate the sale of the company to Motorola. The deal
was completed for cash consideration of $4 billion representing
the fifth largest tech M&A transaction of 2006.
Previously,
Todd was a Managing Director at B2B e-commerce leader Internet Capital
Group where he ran the strategy group and served on the Executive
and Investment Committees. ICG was the best-performing IPO on the
NASDAQ in 1999. He started his career as a Partner at McKinsey &
Company where he co-led the Global Electronic Commerce practice
and was a core partner in the Financial Services group.
